  1. Create Social Profiles.
  2. Research Competitors.
  3. Define Target Audience & explore what differentiates your brand from your competitors.
  4. Brain-Dump Quick & Easy Content Ideas
  5. Research relevant #Hashtags linked with your brand and content ideas.
  6. Determine which resources you'll be using.
  7. Add call to action in your biography directing people to your site.

Week 2

May 22nd - May 28th

Awareness & Reach

• Announce your social media launch (if you’re starting fresh)

• Create value-providing posts optimized for Awareness and Reach. Post at least twice on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook.

• Use hashtags relevant to your content and brand.

• Use the hashtag #NWIRCChallenge at least once.
For this week's goal of reach and awareness you’re creating interesting and value-providing posts, maybe even an announcement. You're taking advantage of hashtags, promotions, and highly sharable content, and optimizing your content and description to reach your target potential audience.

Ideas:
  • Announce your social media launch if you're starting fresh.
  • Demonstrate your product or service solving an issue your target audience faces, and craft an informative description using hashtags important to that target audience with the intention that they see it from those hashtags.
  • [For Twitter] create a relatable meme that emphasizes the value of your product or service.

You’ll be monitoring metrics that illuminate your current audience and target potential audience and learning how well you’re reaching this target potential audience and converting them to followers.

Week 3

Relationship Building + Strengthening

• Create value-providing posts optimized for Relationship Building, that encourage commenting. Post at least twice on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook.

• Reward engagements on your posts with likes and replies at your discretion.

• Find a business using #NWIRCChallenge and comment something substantive on one (or more) of their posts.
For this week's goal of relationship building and strengthening you’re trying to engage your audience and build and strengthen their relationship with your brand. You're providing value, engaging your audience, asking and answering questions, and overall optimizing your posts to encourage interaction.

Ideas:
  • Share a tip with your target audience.
  • Create a poll on Twitter, and/or Instagram Stories, that is relevant to your brand and audience, and after the poll is over repurpose the results into a post with your response to the results.
  • Answer an FAQ.

You’ll be monitoring metrics that show engagements with your content and your brand and using these insights to double down on what your audience enjoys and engages with.

Week 4

Leads & Sales

• Confirm you have a strong CTA in your Biographies.

• Create value-providing posts optimized for leads and sales. Post at least twice on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook.

• At least one post must be "sales-y" and primarily the same piece of content repurposed across all your channels with slight tweaks as you see fit.

• Try to find or create user generated content and incorporate a statement of value and organic call to action.
For this week's goal of leads and sales you’re using your platform to generate leads and sales, through value providing call to actions and conversion methods, while maintaining your relationship with your audience.

Ideas:
  • Offer a limited time discount code for social media followers.
  • Advertise a product or service in an interesting way.
  • Share a real customer using or connecting with your product or service and their testimonial describing the benefits of your product or service.
  • Share a before and after.

You’ll be monitoring conversion metrics such as link clicks, and how well the more sales-y post performed in comparison to your normal posts. You’ll be using these metrics to achieve a balance between conversion and performance.
